No, only one sign up so far. Six other players have told me they will/are likely to be attending.

We now have four registered, and I know of another four who are likely to attend. So short of any unfortunate events, it looks like Wargods will be running at CanCon 2014!

and for those who haven't yet registered, please do so! Keep in mind I've set an early cutoff date. If I don't have eight registered players by that date, the tournament won't be running.

if we don't get the min eight players this year, I probably wont be putting my hand up to run it in 2015. Not sure if any of the other locals would either. It's quite a bit of work to put together (I've just finished painting 50 slaves, and still have 2 elementals to paint) and it's not really fair on all the players either - I'd rather see people have plenty of time to make other plans (either play something else or not attend) if it's unlikely that wargods will run.

At the moment we've got 5 registered, and I know of three more who are highly likely, so we're looking pretty good.

I now have six confirmed registrations. I would encourage anyone else who is planning on attending to register a soon as possible. Please keep in mind I set the close off for registrations about two weeks before the event (see the original post in this thread).

[posted editited, one player pulled out so we're back to six]

well, I'm now committed to a specific list...only 83 models for 2000 points, so nothing too complicated...

Next step is making sure they're all painted

I'm happy to help you out on that score if you'd like, or provide additional suggestions on how to get a list that you are happy with - and I promise that I won't base my advice on what I'm taking just PM me (I think the only email address you have for me has been disabled).

It is now past the date where I was going to decided if we go ahead or not. We have eight registered players, so the tournament will be going ahead. If we're luckly we may get an extra player or two (and I have plans in place to have a by army if needed).

Please note that lists for those registered were also due on the 10th. So far I've only recieved two lists.

Could players who are yet to submit lists please do so as soon as possible.

Although I cannot make it to Cancon, I would be keen to attend in the future. I have only ever played the game once, but have loads of figures and love the concept.

Please take loads of pictures.

Just so I know for future, is Cancon a good place for a newbie to learn? Jumping in the deep and as it were.

We're a nice bunch, so if you've played one or two games then you'll be fine

IF you were going to play at Cancon and only had a small number of games under your belt, I'd be advising that you let the TO know so that they can match you up against an experienced player who is happy to help you learn the game first round.

And I'm happy to volunteer myself for that duty...

Alas, I'm in Perth. I have quite a lot of figures, just lacking in people willing to play or teach the game.

Off the top of my head I have roughly 40-50 Tethru 40-50 Typhon 15-20 Sobeki 30-40 Basti 10-20 Asar 20-30 Nekharu

So lots to try out if I can find someone willing to give something other then Warhammer or Warmachine a go

Update on the tournament: Everything is looking good so far. We have eight players ... though I'm still waiting for final lists from two of them. Once I've got everyone's lists I'll let you all know what warbands are going to be resettling Canah.

I hope to have the players pack emailed to you all on wednesday (again, waiting on a few warband lists).

Finally, at this point, it looks like we wont have any actual prizes. Due to the increased costs of running CanCon, and the small size of our tournament, we dont get any included Dragon trophies. Getting a gold and silver dragon trophy (for 1st and 2nd overall) pretty much uses up the prize pool. I'll also have certificates for best painted, sport and general.

I hope everyone is ok with this. From discussions at previous years, everyone seemed fine with not having prices.

Iv'e now got lists for all eight players. Warbands are:
  • Anubi
  • Basti
  • Dispossessed (Isis)
  • To-Tanem
  • Typhon
  • Eaters of the Dead
  • Titans
  • Wendigo

Quite an Aegyptus focus this year. Given there are no double-ups, I'll bring my Osiris Dispossessed with as a bye army, just in case (rather than my To-Tanem).
