It has been a hundred years since greedy, scheming priests almost unmade the world. A hundred years since great heroes, led by Sobek-i-thump the Slaughterer, brought harmony to the elements and broke the power of a corrupt, self-serving priesthood. A hundred years since the Children of the Gods set foot on the sands of Canah.

But now the city-states and tribes of Aegyptus, Olympus and Hyperboria once again dispatch expeditions to distant Canah. This time there is no foolish talk of ancient elementals or shards of arcane power. This time power will be gained the traditional way – land, water, gold, and the blood of the Settlers of Canah.

This is a two day, 6 game, WarGods tournament on Sat 25 – Sun 26 Jan 2014.

The following Warband compositions restrictions will apply:

  • 2000pt warband;
  • Harbinger/Demigod/Ice Witch may start at up to Ka 2;
  • warbands may be selected from the Wargods of Aegyptus rulebook, The Wendigo Warband Guide, CrocTales 1 – 7 (http://www.crocodilegames.com/crocTales.cfm);
  • --- any official Olympian quick start or playtest rules, released by Croc before 1 January 2014, may also be used (for example Trojans or Amazons);
  • models must be WYSIWYG with the following exceptions:
  • --- non-croc models are acceptable as long as they are clearly identifiable;
  • --- no models may be equipped with both heavy armour and a shield (of any type);
  • --- javelins and throwing clubs do not have to be represented on models;
  • --- armour may represent one class of armour up or down from what is represented on the model (paying the appropriate points cost);
  • --- shields carried by models can represent normal or large shields (paying the appropriate points cost).
  • starting Spells and Ka Powers will be rolled by the TO and provided to players once lists have been submitted. These Spells/Powers will be used for all games;
  • --- Ka powers gained during the game should be rolled at the end of the game and witnessed by your opponent or the TO;
  • --- if you don't have an appropriate models for a rolled power, or already have that power, take lowest numbered power not yet gained instead.

Prizes will be awarded to 1st and 2nd overall, with certificates for best general, sports and painted.

Registration and lists are due by Friday 10 Jan 2013. Min 8, max 16 players. Late registrations will only be accepted if it leads to an even number of players (assuming the min number has been met). If the minimum number of players is not reached by 10 January, the tournament will not run.

For more information see the Croc Events section of the Crocodile Games forum http://www.crocodilegames.com/forum/forum.cfm.

Tournament registration is now open on the CGS website http://cgs.asn.au/index.php/cancon.

This is currently my "I'm coming" placeholder for when cancon 2014 gets the go ahead.

So for 2000 points I need to get seriously painting and doing serious maths!! What to take that is the problem!

I'm in. No other games, no AFL, no distractions. (But quite a bit of painting.)

And no apologies, excuses or get-out clauses (bar a large family of Lebanese in-laws with a regrettable propensity for January weddings, births or christenings.)

And no idea what army I'm bringing (at least until after MOAB, as I'm hoping the impossible happens and my old armies turns up at the Bring & Buy).

I have just booked accommodation for Barry and myself. So unless anything intrudes (like a very sick cat) we will be there

Oh, and I intend to run Bendis (epithet pending), demidgodess of Artemis and warlord of the Amazons (if I can get the army painted up in time)

Could you please post a link to the website?

I'm trying to register, but I keep getting "This service is unavailable" every time I've attempted to log in over the past 48 hours.

And as for warband of choice: if Sobek shines on me I'll be able to buy back my old Sebeki and/ or Typhon at the MOAB Bring and Buy in October (which I so foolishly sold there last year) and run either (preferably the stompers of swamps). Failing that, I'll need an force which I can paint in about 10 weeks flat & play reasonably - meaning: so as to not totally embarrass myself (I can handle being semi-embarrassing) - without having an actual practice game beforehand.

I just successfully registered at http://cgs.asn.au/index.php/cancon , so we are now officially 12.5% of our quota to run the event .

It appears that there is no register now/ pay on the day option, so it's down to Paypal, credit/ debit card or prayer in terms of paying the $50.

My brother lives around a 10 minute drive from the venue, so my accommodation is pretty much Set.

we're 25% towards quota now

Still debating whether to paint up another 750 points of Basti (to field 2k of pure Basti), or paint up something else...

I don't have 750 points of Basti archers to paint, so you shouldn't be too worried about that

You're lucky.

Unfortunately I've already sold the Typhon to a friend but I still have the sebeki.

I'm going to be at the bring and buy when it opens. If you like I will bring your Sebeki along and you can buy it back for $50.

Painted 22 sebeki warriors 2 beloveds 5 sebeki heros/champions 2 charioteers 1 harbinger 1 Asar priest of Sobek 1 Bes

Unpainted 2 chariots w.out draft animals 3 giant tortieses

Ah Barry, you are truly a champion. If you weren't married & straight & I wasn't married and straight I'd kiss you on both cheeks right now.

I will certainly be there when it opens for a while, before heading off to the airport & collecting my son from his trip to Japan.

Well, that's my birthday prezzie sorted, and I'll be staying true to my avatar at CanCon to boot!

(And apologies to all for this dose of delirium for the delirium, but this is so amazingly amazing that I am utterly amazed right now!)
