Time: Noon Sunday, August 4 Location: 524 Professional Way Kendallville, IN 46755-2927 Maximum: 10 players Contact: David Williams (pyremius@yahoo.com)

Event Description: A low-power tournament to help restart WarGods events in NE Indiana. 1000 point warbands Ka 1 Harbinger Models wearing Heavy Armor may not also have a Shield. Spells, items, etc. will be rolled at the start of the tournament and kept throughout. (edited to change equipment restriction).

The tournament will run 3 rounds. Each round will last a maximum of 10 turns or 90 minutes, whichever comes first. At 10 minutes we'll call Final Turn - no further turns should be started.

I'm very sorry for the short notice, but we wanted to try and get one last Aegyptus-heavy tournament in before all the new Olympus stuff comes out, and there weren't many dates to choose from. I'm anticipating having more events in the region in the future, but soon everyone will be wanting to play with the new Olympian goodies.

Currently this is an unsanctioned event. If I can put together a prize (or Chris decides to do a 2013 Event Mini) I'll update the thread.

If I can find it, I'll be there... It's been too long.

If you don't mind showing up early, your best bet is to come up to Fort Wayne and ride in with me - the best route goes right past my house.

With respect to heavy armour, what we customarily did was say you can have heavy armour but not a if you do, you can't have a shield.

Just banning bought heavy armour leads to medium armour/hand weapon/large shield as the most common option. Disallowing heavy armour and shiled leads to medium armour/hand weapon/shield (best missile defence), or heavy armour and two weapons (best melee defence) or heavy armour and double handed weapon or polearm (best melee attack)

Interesting alternative. I'll have to see if I can get in touch with people about that, or at least remember it for the future.

Sounds like a good solution to cut down on the cheeze!

Rules are modified to allow Heavy Armor when not paired with a Shield.

No You are doing it right, Greek Phalanx warrior should have medium and a large shield.

We have found that when two Harbingers are fighting and both are in heavy Armor & shield the fight last all game.

What we do in San Diego is that Harbingers maybe equiped with either Hvy armor and a normal shield or Medium armor and a large shield. And the best armor save in melee you can have is a 7, nothing higher.

Also no troop type may have heavy armor unless they come pre equiped with it.
