Please note that this tournament has been CANCELLED. See post on page 2.
Next year CanCon (Australia) is Saturday 26 to Monday 28 January 2013 (with Monday being the public holiday in lieu of saturday). I'll be running Wargods at CanCon and want to start getting a feel for who is likely to attend and what people want. At this point, I'm thinking of running a 2 day 1500pt story based tournament, but I'm happy to consider other ideas. Thoughts? Erik

Bigger games might be a little more difficult to squeeze into a two day event?

It always ends with tears when I put my paw up too soon, but as it's the AFL off-season I'm intending to play.
Not exactly sure with what, but the actual format is irrelevant.

Not sure if you guys are aware but Cancon next year will also be host to the Worlds event. It is a historical wargames tournament hosted by a different country each year, here is the link to the CGS page and here is a direct link to the Worlds Homepage Now I am not sure how many extra people this will attract but they list several hotels and motels close to EPIC, if you are definitely coming then book your accommodation early.

Registration for Cancon is now online - http://www.cgs.asn.au/index.php/cancon - select the 'Online entry system' link to register.
2 days, 1500 points. I presume that the restrictions on armour etc. will remain the same as last year, but we'll have to wait for Erik to confirm.

On behalf of Erik (who’s asked me to post this), I can confirm that army list restrictions will be the same as in previous years:
* No model wearing heavy armour may take a shield as well. * All models must be as WYSIWYG as possible, except that;
* Random elements, such as ka powers, spells, artifex items, abomination mutations, crypt lord powers (etc), will be determined by the TO upon submission of an army list. These were supposed to have been included in the Cancon entry, but seem to have dropped off somewhere along the way – so we apologise for that.

Baz and I will be there. Accommodation is already booked.

Yup, working on the army lists at the moment.
Two questions : Will you be using the house rule I came up with a few conventions ago disallowing models using Earths Farewell from landing within 1" of an enemy model to amoleriate the 'earths farewell/firey aspect' provocation tactic? Also, are there any models or terrain you are likely to need?

I've also registered, and am looking forward to playing...I'll probably be running a warband I've used previously, as I don't know if I'll have time to get anything extra painted...

Nebseni - thanks for the offer of terrain. We'll defintinely keep you in mind. We're currently going through playtesting of the scenarios and working out what we're going to need in the way of terrain, compared to what we’ve already got… I think we’ll be okay though.
WRT your 'house rules' rules question – we'll have to get back to you on that one as well. Although the point has been made that we didn’t mention it in the ‘house rules’ in the Cancon entry, so we may have missed the boat on that one.
