THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. PLEASE SEE MY POST ON THE 2ND PAGE OF THIS THREAD

Hello all

I'd like to get feedback from those interested in playing WarGods at CanCon 2017 (January 2017 in Canberra, Australia).

In 2017 the Australia Day Public Holiday is on Thursday 26 January 2017. CanCon runs for three days: Friday 27, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 January 2017.

I'm planning on running a two day event, and as the public holiday isn't next to the weekend, I'm currently thinking that it would be best to run the event on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 January (day two and three of Cancon). What do people think? I'm happy to consider other options depending on player interest/availability?

Also, do players want prizes? The prize support approach for CanCon 2017 has not been publilshed, but based on last year, there is no included prize support and Event Organisers add a value to the base entry price to cover prizes and trophies. If people would like there to be trophies and/or prizes, I'll have to add something to the base entry price. If people want a cheaper entry, we can go without trophies and prizes (there would still be certificates).

Any other ideas, suggestions or comments would also be appreciated.

Saturday/Sunday suits me (if I can come down)

Not fussed either way about prize support. Trophy was nice but certificates are good too.

Olympus themed again. Got more Titan slaves so can run the list I wanted to this year :)

Well it's a timing issue really. I could run Spartans which would require the least amount of painting. Without more secondary units the Mycenaeans and amazons just don't appeal to me right now. No Athenians or Corinthians have landed yet.

I'm determined to be fully painted next year! No half measures (and yes I say that every year) so Titans are my best bet for that. But we will see. want to try for one Titan finished a week from August

Saturday and Sunday suit me too.

As far as prize support goes, I am easy, I like the certificates and I like the trophies.

I am most likely to run my Trojans again, they need to stretch their legs.

I've submitted the event registration for a two day event on Sat/Sun. To keep entry cost down, there won't be dragon trophies or prizes.

Good to hear you'll be bringing the Trojans Stormcricket.

As per previous years, all Warbands are welcome. Olympian Warbands are fighting to protect their City-State. Aegyptus Warbands are mercenaries hired to protect one of the City-States (all but Amazon), and yes, even the Eaters may be hired by an unscrupulous (or desperate) Patron. Titan and Wendigo, on the other hand, are servants of a dark and terrible mistress.

So what's the cut off date? Sorry not entered yet - we are expecting our 2nd child next year and while the due date is not near cancon this one is not as 'easy' as the first.

Cutoff date is Monday 9 January 2017. Keep in mind if CGS runs out of room, entries could be cut off even earlier.

I have now entered. now to make an offering to the gods in the hopes that the painting fairies come and start for me instead of me just staring at them willing them to paint themselves....

hmm...painting...I probably should think about doing some of that...

Of course, that would also involve me deciding what I'm going to take...

Well that is now two registered. There are four others that I believe plan to attend. I can think of two or there more players that I don't know if they will be attending.
