We are due to see Titans in a matter of days, and I'm sure the reactions will be plentiful. We have already seen some of the models at shows in the past, and I love the Harryhausen-esque feel of the slaves, masters and overlords. I wonder what else we might see as the line unfolds. I sometimes also look for some spot minis to add to my Wargods armies. For example, my basti chariot driver is the bast figure from Ral Partha. My Set statue in my temple is also a RP fig from the 90's. This isn't too far off the reservation because I think, one, Chris Fitzpatrick may have been the sculptor. At any rate I have a Chronos Figure from that same old D&D box set that I wanna use. The Father of Titans with a sickle in hand is floating around if you're lucky enough to find one. What are folks planning to do with their Titan armies...besides destroying Argos because of Acresius' sin?

I plan to not have more than two of the same "Titan" figure in my Titan Horde. For years I've been looking for alternate Titan Slaves, Masters, etc. Let's just say Growlers will be well represented in the Horde.

Your old Partha Egyptian figs (Set and Bast) were indeed Fitz sculpts. He uses some of those in games now and then. You are very lucky, PoP! notworthy.gif

I've got some Oni no Kamu from Clan War that I think fit right in with the Titans, but they're long out of production.

There are enough head, body and arm variants that it'll be easy to have a big titan army with no two figures looking just the same.

Centaurs! I have no idea if there will be Centaurs, but if you poke around the forum you can loacte a concept sketch of a Centaur. In the top right it says "Titan - Centaurs". He's got horns & everything, very cool! I was able to get a sweet deal on 6 rackham centaurs, who also heppen to have horns, so they are waiting in the wings!

I love the look of the Titans & can't wait to see their rules/fluff/etc. The look of mine will be a more earth-tone, like the cover of the playtest book. Dark browns, Greys, some black. So many conversion possibilites! biggrin.gif

"...You must be...Xerxes..."

Issue 1 of Croc Tales is showing the first pic I've seen of Xerxes. Very nice I think. He looks evil, lordly and almost a little ancient near-eastern. The horns have a look evocative of images of the Storm God Adda from the Assyrians circa 1400 a.e., or the horns on the similar helmet worn by the Babylonian Lamassu. I like the feel of the guy... He's evil and eastern. Almost demonic...maybe even Semitic.

BTW...Love the magazine!

Yep, that Xerxes figure looks AWESOME!

I would have been curious to see Paul Muller's take on the figure, but Fitz did a fantastic job sculpting him!

Definitely looking forward to adding him to my collection!

The actual Xerxes sculpt is impressive. It's a very solid figure and sculpted well so it won't be in twenty pieces.

And the actual Titans are doubly impressive once you see them in person. Moving large chunks of metal around on a game board is the reason I got into this hobby in the first place.

I'm going to go with a dinosaur like camo scheme on my Titans. Dark reds with brighter patterning on the backs.

So much to paint, so little time.

Oh, interesting! I like that! Maybe I could look at some old Jurasic Park toys for ideas. I really love the Titans but I feel lost about how to do their color scheme. I want to keep in mind that some day there will probably be a Medusa. So, I want my Titans to look right with her. The dinosaur patterns sound really promising.

So, now that they are here, what do people think?

Anyone notice that the Titan Master 2's second head looks like some kind of freaky water monster?

Maybe Chris or Debs can give us some hints on painting 'em? They look AMAZING by the way!

Titan Master 1, either head, is my fav, followed closely by Xerxes! dribble.gif

I like them. They look impressive. smile.gif

But buying them will have to wait until I've got some Ægyptus armies. smile.gif

In the Croc Tales news item it said 'Watch for issue #2 in one month's time -- where we introduce you to the TITANS!'

Hopefully that will include some rules....

Yes, Croc Tales #2 will have the latest rules for playing the Titans. It will be ready by the end of the month, earlier if we can swing it.

Can anyone tell me the relative size of the Xerxes figure? The price would indicate that he may be smaller than the masters, but.....how does he actually compare?

He's between the size of a Slave and a Master, just over 2 1/2 inches.

Actually the current Titan rules are to use them to physically smash your opponent's Spartans. Reinforced bases are encouraged to allow maximum spear-bending when you bring them down on top of the Phalanx... laugh.gif

So how are we going with these rules then Chris?
Some very eager people waiting impatiently....

Thanks,
