Here's some big pics of Hecate finished!
![]() A few changes have been made since the last version, mainly the addition of even MORE hair. At this point, she is finished, with the exception of a few bits that need to be done to simplify the casting of the miniature. Now let's all cross our fingers and hope that she makes it through the moldmaking process without any trouble!
And here are some big pics of Todd's greek archers, ready for action! Todd is also working on a set of Captains for them as well, one for each city state (Sparta, Athens, Corinth, and Mycenae).
Hope you guys like them!
|
![]()
They look great! Hecate looks very nice, love the hair. Archers look good will be buying about 100 hundred as soon as you can pop them out of the mold Chris . As you know I have a 160 Spartans and want to field Xenophon's 10,000 will need 100 Corinthians 100 Athenians 100 Amazons( already bought) and 50 amazon calvery. So you have basically taken my entire hobby budget this year! One question will the amazon archers be unarmored as well
Looking good Jon

|
![]()
Awesomesauce Fitz, will definitely be adding her after a few games with pentheaslea!

Unfortunately, 'frantic' and 'fine detail sculpting' don't really get along well, so it is taking a bit longer to wrap these up. I hope to have these wrapped up soon, and a cool update to follow. ![]()
|
![]()
Thanks Chris, I know you are being frantic and really like what I am seeing, but since I have nagged you and Debs about new miniatures for the last 10 years or so, I felt it was necessary for you to know I was still out here, I did not want you two to think anything had happened to me! :)

LOL ,Same here been pushing for Chris about ten years as well,I'm so excited about these minis my wife is tired of hearing about it

And here we have the latest green - Dionysus, the god of wine!
He's 95% done, I just a few small details to add (a splash of wine in his cup, some detail on his medallion, and a club hanging at his belt.) Enjoy!

For the update this week, can we get some more details about expected completion dates? I know this is a complicated process, and this is a huge project for you and we all want to make sure we have the quality we expect from Croc, but September was targeted as the projected release of several factions: Trojans, Demi-Gods, Spartan swordsmen, Mycenaean peltasts, and the Greek archers (we have seen those pics). Are any of these going to be ready to ship soon?

![]() Alcibia said:We are working to get all these done. Please keep in mind, we also added Dionysus, Bronze Owl, Oracle of Delphi, and Helen of Troy -- all of which need to be finished before we can fulfill any of the $160+ rewards. Because of these extra sculpts, we're running a few weeks behind on the first wave of fulfillment, though I'm doing my best to catch up. Please bear with me, hopefully the extra minis will make it all worth it! ![]() Expect the Demigods-only rewards to be shipping first (all of those sculptures are completed, and heading to production) and the Trojans will come next (when Aeneas, the Oracle and Helen are finished, which I'm working on now).

![]()
That is the information I was looking for, thanks Chris.
|
|
![]()
Yeah, thanks for keeping us updated! : )

Thanks for the detailed update, Chris! The greens are looking outstanding - looking forward to the next "batch"

Here's a pic of the completed Dionysus, now with a slotta-tab and 100% more club! Next time we see him, he'll be in metal!

More pics coming in this weekend's update, including Aeneas, Trojan Armor Rack & Casualty!

![]()
Great Work as always Chris

![]()
Wow and goody goody gum drops!
|
|
![]()
Looking good, my favourite detail has to be the liquid about to slop out of his cup with abandon:)
Should have got one of these to lead those booze fuelled, nymph chasing, hoof and bow merchants I've got lurking in the shed! Great work, looking forward to the update this weekend. Cheers Stu

He still needs his emblem on the 'necklace' or whatever it is
--------------- |
|
![]()
What a jolly fellow he is! Looks great Fitz! Looking forward to seeing Aeneas.

Awsome! I was really looking forward to this Demigod. Satyrs felt lonely, you know.

Trojan Casualty aka "drunk off his centaur"
I am getting entirely distracted. I was not primarily excited by Hephaestus and then came the mini... All the little iconic details and the physical character of the mini made me want to have an Hephaestus warband, especially with the addition of the automatons. Now, I am lit with anticipation about Dionysus too. WELL DONE! The tiny detail make such a difference. He looks sweaty and heavy handed, carousing with highly authentic kylix of wine in hand. Can't wait!

|
![]()
Here's the latest, Aeneas, prince of Troy.
![]() He's still got a couple details to add (a sword on his belt, and some tassles hanging from his spear) - but there is enough here to show off!
|
![]()
Aeneas. YES. He looks great! Am a happy future Trojan commander this morning! :) Thanks Fitz!!
--------------- |
|
![]()
Wonderful! Glad I went Trojan.
--------------- |
|
![]()
Looks like I will be buying Trojans as well
|
|
![]()
Fitz, just to make sure...is the shield going to be molded onto Aeneas? Or will it be separate? Not sure if you were adding it for the total effect while you were working...or even how that whole process would go, actually. i guess you have to fit the shields at some time or another no matter if they are separate or not, right?
Thanks!

|
Osiris

|
![]() Hektor said:Aeneas' shield is a separate piece. So, you could give him a different one if you wanted, etc.
I generally make all the shields separate pieces, unless the model's pose/constriction demands that the arm is included.

This is a really nice mini, a true leader of my will be Troy - Amazon forces
![]() cheers Thomas
--------------- |
|
![]()
Damn you are a mighty fine sculptor sir!!
|
|
![]()
So Chris, got a status for us? The Demi-gods being cast? All Trojans complete and now being molded? We still waiting until the Oracle and Helen are complete first? etc....?
|
|
![]()
Trojans are indeed late, but out of all the kickstarters and indiegogos I have taken part in, only these have been on time that were ready before the crowdfunding campaigns were initiated. Only exception being Deep Wars by Antimatter games (great product, delivered fast, but small backing level of 24kUSD).
Most important is the quality of minis, than the delivery time. Personally I would hate if quality was sacrificed in order to rush things and be on time. Also, the number of models ulocked was probably bigger than initially planned. It has to cause delays.
--------------- |
|
![]()
I don't have an issue with delays, I understand the complexity and time it takes to get the details just right (and I expect the details to be great from Croc), It is just that I have been caught in the time warp of "Croc Time" for years and was hoping for more transparency with this project. I am NEVER dissapointed with the work Chris and his team deliver, I am just very anxious to get painting and gaming!

![]() Alcibia said:The sculpture of the Oracle is close to being finished, if things go we'll I'll be able to show her off in the update this weekend. The last of the Demigod molds are being pressed this week, and I'll be going out to inspect the master castings for the last 2 (Hecate and Dionysus) on Friday. If those look good we'll be able to start production castings for the Demigods next week. Fingers crossed they came out OK!

yeah, that kind of info. I will now calm down. (briefly!). thanks Chris.

OK, here's the latest progress on the Oracle. At this point she's about 90% complete, I just have to sculpt her hands, some drapery work on her shroud, and either coals or water in the basin of the tripod.
She presented quite a lot of design challenges, especially with the tripod's legs (something with 3 legs is difficult to mold in a way that it can be produced without distortion/molding problems. We have to produce a LOT of her (all of our $160+ rewards get her) so ease-of-production is a big consideration. Hopefully this will work!
I'll make an overall update on Kickstarter in a couple days, as soon as her last bits are finished. I don't mind showing off 'in-progress' shots on this forum...
|
![]()
whoa.
|
|
![]()
Lovin' it!
--------------- |
|
![]()
Great job! Stunning! I love it!
I assume it is the angle that makes her head look a bit round since i can only see it on one of the shots. But could we get a shot straight from the front? Also is it possible to mould the coal as a separate bit? That means you could choose if you wanted coal or water yourself :-) It might not be possible because of the extra work, I just wanted to ask in either case ;-)

Wow! Love it!

Hi so just for my own info. What is the status of the armies. I mean which ones are ready? Being worked on? Still in the concept stage. I been trying to get an idea so I get a rough idea where figure are in the development of the project. I got a Amazon army with Hecate and Artemis. Plus all these unlock figures. I am just wondering some news cause I don't get any on the KS site.

![]() Cavalier1645 said:I'm trying to focus on the stuff that was scheduled first, so it's Demigods - then the Trojans - then the Amazons. We're running about 2 months behind on these, but I'm finished all of the miniatures and components as fast as I can. We expect to start shipping the Painter-level rewards very soon - all of the Demigods have been molded and I'll be picking up the first production castings this week. Trojans will be a little later, as I still have to finish Helen of Troy, and a couple bits (Battle Honors shields, sword arms). About half of their molds are now complete. Amazons come after the Trojans, and I'll have several models to complete for them. I expect to be finished with Helen and the last of the Trojans by the 15th of November, and after that I'll be on the Amazons 100% - so we can expect to start seeing some new greens for the Amazons completed in early December - they will have a lot of components to be molded (just like the Trojans) so I'll be posting updates as we get the last greens and molds completed.
As for the latest progress, the Oracle is now 100% complete!
