Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the Canterbury team as I don't think it gets stressed enough on the day!! Without your volunteer efforts I wouldn't get my 3 games of WarGods per year so I really appreciate it! See you all in not quite a year this time :D

Greetings all,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all the chaps at Canterbury (FNFFC) for putting on another fantastic tournament and looking after us so well (although that was mostly by the widows and orphans - so a big thank you to them too!) It was great to see everyone again – such a great bunch of decent, friendly, caring and passionate players, O, and my opponents too Stu (you Greek nutcase you), Mr Meijvogel (How many times have you read up on creeping darkness now then?) and Kevin (Open terrain and more Basti archers than you can poke a stick at! Doh.)

I hope we can make a game or two before the grand 5th tournament! And that, BTW, will be a crack to remember!

Hope to see some of you at Salute if not before – if you’re not taking part, you are more than welcome to come and play in our Aegyptus/Olympus/Titan goodness. Feel free to pm me. Thanks also to Chris and Debs for the event miniature.

Cheers, Paul.

p.s Can someone let me have Elton’s email/tel no? I need scenery…

p.p.s I did take some photos, and providing the lens isn’t cracked…

I would also like to thank the chaps at Canterbury for another excellent tournament and to thank my opponents (John, James and Paul) for three very enjoyable games.

Also thanks to Black Pyramid and Elton for providing lots of figures, scenery etc. for us to spend our money on.

It was good to see everybody again and I look forward to seeing you all again, either at Salute or at next year's tournament.

Cheers, Kevin

The 'Widows and Orphans' have just got back to me with the final total. We raised £63-50 for the RNLI from the refreshments stall. I think I also should point out that none of them would take any money for the cost of the food they provided ,so all the money that was taken has gone straight to charity.

On the journey home I had enough time to read that part of the rulebook (I have to admit I have never read that part of the book, I bought the hardback when it was published!). It looks like a great warband and maybe in the future....... mmm, let me just finish the Khemru and Heru I have lying about.

I also had a great time and enjoyed each of my three battles (against Paul, Paul and James). As usual I forgot a few things I did have on my warbandroster such as using my Ka powers (particulary "Heal" in the last battle) and throwing with the clubs my khemru had (I paid the points for them!).

So next time I will use my Khemru again but will pay more attention at the possibilities they have (and try to remember them).

ps. there is no reason to call me Mr, I'm not that old

Just trying to avoid those pesky profanity filters!

@ Grendhal - thanks for letting us know, a great cause. Thanks be to your fair maidens too!

Cheers, Paul.

I wanted to add my thanks to everyone that came along.

Sorry I could not party on the Friday night, I will definitely be there for our 5th anniversary event.

We really want to make this a BIG and special event. So come on our American cousins. Come and visit Canterbury in the autumn.

We should have a complete list soon.

I'll get some battle results put up as well soon.

My sincere thanks to Kevin E for a truly sporting game of Wargods. Many thanks.

Thanks also to Paul M and Jan for making the day special.

Cheers

John

Thanks to everyone for coming. I have posted photos and the final standings:

Pictures at: http://picasaweb.google.com/113375051542944318086/Wargods2010?feat=directlink

Final Standings at: http://www.fnffc.org.uk/e107_plugins/content/content.php?content.26

If people want to individual game results I can do that, but it will take me a little longer to sort out.

I look forward to seeing you all for the 5th Annual Wargods event we have plenty of room for more players (although Paul we may need more scenery). We await James to confirm the date.

Dave
