Finally I'm excited about some Olympus figs (I like the Satyrs and Titans, but the regular humans so far aren't as interesting- too historical).

More pics at THIS LINK. Hopefully painted up soon...

While I like the idea of Amazon (female) hoplite-type troops, I *deeply* dislike the idea of female Spartan hoplites. I hope that all of the races and factions eventually have both male and female Harbingers (and Demigods/Demigoddesses), and even heroes of both genders, but for regular troop types I think that females should be the exception, not the norm.

I know it's irrational, I know it's a fantasy world, I know it's inspired by history and myth and not enslaved to them... but block units of female line troops still look "wrong" to me.

Unless they're Amazons. Or very specific troop types (Basti swordswomen, Ice Witches, Dahomey Mino or Scythian/Trojan cavalry, etc).

I'm certainly curious to see how these look when they're painted.

I was thrilled when I first heard about the WF amazons but I'm a disappointed in the final product. The kneeling pose is awkward and off-balance and the armor is a little too cheesecake for my taste.

Still, paint and putty can cover a world of flaws. I'm looking forward to seeing them painted and lined up with other troops.

Well it is for MYTHO-historical Greece, and I'm a fan of cheescake. ( ;

There has been slight progress with these- more put together and primed AND the Hasslefree 25mm Hoplite chick has been painted as inspiration to the rest--

You present an argument that is difficult to rebut, sir!
